On the other hand, if HE is allmighty, HE could do the job of punishing poor JL for worshipping Lucifer for himself and doesn't need puny MDC to do it for him. So in fact it's MDC himself who disowns HIM (or HER?) by saying GOD isn't almighty at all and needs MDC's help to put the verdict on Lennon. Can you believe that? GOD created mankind, all the species, earth and the whole universe - and is to weak to pull the trigger of a gun?!

By the way, ever thought of aliens invading earth are GOD's creations too? And maybe these aliens are on a crusade to fight Money-worshipping earthlings. Because it says in the Revelation Chapter 13, 15/17: And it was given him to give life to the image of the beast: and that the image of the beast should speak: and should cause that whosoever will not adore the image of the beast should be slain. (..) And that no man might buy or sell, but he that hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. - which is the proof that money was invented by Satan. It sure would make a good b-movie with Tom Cruise and John Travolta as evil humans to be crushed by the aliens. Or maybe Dreamworks could make a good animation movie of the Apocalypse/Revelation to St. John itself? It sure has so great jobs for special effects!

Borsig

Supermax, ein kurzlebiges Label aus dem Umfeld vom Hamburger Rip Off-Laden, hat meines Wissens nach 4 Maxi-Singles herausgebracht. Die erste Maxi stammt von Alexander Hacke, heute Bassist bei den Einstürzenden Neubauten, damals Berliner Geniale Dilletanten-Wunderkind und auch Gitarrist beim Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandöh. Mit Hilfe von F.M. Einheit covert er hier unter anderem "Japan" von Abwärts (die japanischen Schriftzeichen auf der Rückseite des Plattencovers lauten "Nippon Nippon") mit viel Synthesizerkrach und anderem Lärm. "Keiner achtet mehr darauf, dass man das an Punks verkauft" - was man sich damals alles so angehört hat :D

Das erste Posting mit Schallplatten aus dem Dunstkreis von Abwärts kommt mit der einzigen Soloplatte von Margita Haberland von 1983. Haberland, Geigerin und Sängerin bei Abwärts von 1979 bis 1981, hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon eine bewegte Vergangenheit hinter sich, Abitur 1962(!), danach Jugendtheater in Salzburg, Studium in München, Free Jazz in Berlin, Hair-Musical, 4 Schallplatten mit dem Release Music Orchestra, Theater-Werkstätten in Aix-en-Provence und Geigerin bei den Bremer Punks Die Blender. Als sie bei Abwärts einsteigt ist sie schon Mitte 30 und nach der Band studiert sie in den USA. Bis heute ist sie an verschiedensten Performance und Musikprojekten beteiligt und arbeitet als Therapeutin und Pädagogin, war sogar Mitgründerin der Drogenselbsthilfeorganisation Release. Auf ihrer Maxi-Single wird sie begleitet vom Abwärts-Schlagzeuger Axel Dill und musikalisch ist das auch nicht so weit von Abwärts entfernt wie man befürchten könnte.

Die Stadtmusikanten von Hannover

So mancher wird schon mal die Idee gehabt haben, wenn man mal wieder in der Einkaufsstraße mit Straßenmusik beschallt wird, dass man daraus doch mal eine CD machen könnte - nur um gleich darauf die Idee zu verwerfen, weil wer würde das schon kaufen, es sei denn aus Mitleid direkt vom Straßenmusiker selbst. Die Firma Music & Byte war anderer Ansicht und brachte tatsächlich 1995 eine CD mit Aufnahmen Hannoveraner Straßenmusiker heraus. Zu hören ist von Drehorgelmusik bis zum Folkduo alles, was man sich so vorstellen kann, alles langweilig und vorhersehbar. Die einzige Irritation sind Moussa & Sissé mit ihrer selbstvergessenen Bass-und-Gitarre-Improvisation ohne Rücksicht darauf, ob das den nächtlichen Passanten gefällt oder nicht. File under "echt bad taste".

Translation: If you think the idea of releasing a CD with recordings of local street musicians might be a good idea, you might take a second thought after listening to this CD from Hannover, released in 1995 and quickly forgotten. Do you expect classical flute music? Barrel-organs? Russian folk? It's all there. The only track beyond boredom is by Moussa & Sissé, a guitar-bass-jamming duo recorded late at night with the desire to express the tension between humans, their environment and nature. Heavy stuff but no one listens...

Bobby Mugabe

Recently I've been downloading some African music from blogs like matsuli music, ýlowek scavel-cronek and of course awesome tapes from africa. So it's time give you something back and this my idea: "Bobby Mugabe" by Froon.

Well, it's not really African music as Froon came from Berlin and shared members with Spliff who were formed from the ashes of the Nina Hagen Band who released a track entitled "African reggae" on their second album which critizies the tradition of female genital cutting. And the idea of writing a song with the lyrics Bobby Mugabe, Boss of Zimbabwe, where do you go from here, Bobby Mugabe, Boss of Zimbabwe, someone is whispering in your ear isn't a good one if you know what's happening in Zimbabwe right now. But this song was written 20 years ago, when people still believed that black leaders could be better than white colonialists. Well, time has proven that all leaders should be shot whatever the colour of their skin might be. Also I wonder if The Artist Formerly Known As The Symbol ever sued Froon for sampling him ;-)
